LSEG has been appointed as a Super Validator on the Canton Network, expanding its existing participation in the blockchain network.
The appointment builds on LSEG’s role as a validator through the cash application of its Digital Settlement House (DiSH), which operates on Canton’s privacy-enabled network for institutional finance.
DiSH was technically launched earlier this year and has since been used in proof-of-concept transactions to settle intraday repos on Canton using DiSH cash.
As a Super Validator, LSEG will support the network’s infrastructure and governance and work with other participants in the Canton ecosystem.
The group also plans to introduce additional services to the network.
Bud Novin, head of DiSH, Post Trade Solutions at LSEG, says: “DiSH is already demonstrating how regulated institutions can move value digitally within a trusted governance and controls framework.
“By becoming a Super Validator, we are strengthening our commitment to the Canton ecosystem and helping accelerate its adoption across LSEG businesses and clients.”
Novin adds that DiSH could act as a gateway for institutional settlement and commercial bank money solutions, supporting interoperable, and multi-chain settlement alongside banks and existing market infrastructures.
Viv Diwakar, head of the Canton Foundation, adds: “LSEG joining the network deepens our global reach across capital markets, post-trade, and payments.
“The real opportunity is turning that connectivity into practical benefits for market participants across global markets and reducing friction.”
