Marex has appointed Tom Tardif to its global capital introduction team as vice president of capital introduction for the Middle East.

Based in Dubai, Tardif will focus on connecting hedge fund managers with relevant allocators across the region and globally.

He brings experience across business development, capital raising, and investor relations, working with institutional investors and family offices across a broad range of asset classes.

Commenting on the appointment, Jack Seibald, global co-head of Prime Services at Marex, says: “Capital introduction is an important part of how we support hedge fund managers beyond their day-to-day trading and financing requirements.

“As our Prime Services business continues to grow internationally, having experienced people on the ground who understand their local allocator markets is increasingly important.

“Tom’s appointment strengthens that capability in the Middle East at a time when we are seeing growing engagement with alternative investment strategies across the region.”

Tardif has been based in Dubai for nearly five years, most recently as associate director, client solutions at Cambridge Associates, with a focus on investment advisory services.

Prior to this, he was principal, capital raising and investor relations at Salica Investments; and vice president, relationship manager at Greenstone Equity Partners.

Before moving to the region, Tardif spent almost seven years at Blu Family Office in London, most recently as director, head of investor relations.

Tardif comments: “The GCC has a highly sophisticated allocator community and, over the past 12 to 18 months, I’ve seen a noticeable increase in interest in hedge fund strategies alongside the region’s established appetite for private investments.

“That makes this a particularly exciting time to join Marex and build on the firm’s reputation for supporting hedge fund managers through relevant, targeted introductions.”

According to the firm, he joins a 14-person global capital introduction team which has an on-the-ground presence in the Middle East, the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

Capital introduction is a key part of Marex’s Prime Services offering, and connects hedge fund managers with investment opportunities through a network of approximately 2,100 institutional allocators worldwide.

Allison DiClemente, global head of capital introduction at Marex, adds: “Our capital introduction offering combines the reach of a global team with deep knowledge of individual allocator markets.

“Tom brings an established network and nearly five years of experience in the region, as well as a valuable perspective from having worked with family offices and institutional investors throughout his career.

“He is a great addition to the team as we continue to deepen our allocator relationships and strengthen our capital introduction presence across the GCC.”
